Reflection and Project Information:
During my time as Unit Production Manager on WAVES, an award-winning independent film produced in Michigan, I helped oversee the full scope of operations behind a multi-thousand-dollar budget production. I helped coordinate five demanding days of principal photography that involved a SAG-AFTRA cast, a union crew, and a constant flow of moving parts. My role required precise planning, strategic decision-making, and the ability to keep multiple departments aligned while ensuring that every element of the production stayed on schedule and on budget. The project’s scale and ambition pushed me to strengthen my leadership, communication, and coordination skills in a high-pressure environment.
In this position, I managed transportation logistics across several locations, handled contract administration, and helped with talent handling. I worked closely with department heads to meet creative needs while maintaining financial accountability and ensuring that all union regulations and production standards were upheld.
