Reflection and Project Information:
Serving as the first assistant director on A Fire in the West presented a dynamic and logistically complex challenge that I was proud to navigate successfully. Over the course of three intensive shooting days, I focused on maintaining a highly efficient pace on set while ensuring that every department remained coordinated and engaged. I prioritized safety and well-being at all times, addressing potential hazards proactively and making decisive choices when unexpected roadblocks arose. Establishing strong personal connections with cast and crew helped foster a collaborative atmosphere, allowing for a smooth workflow even under the pressures of tight scheduling.
In preparation for the shoot, I implemented a pre-production Zoom meeting with the entire crew, which set a clear and professional tone for the project and ensured that expectations were aligned from day one. Throughout production, I balanced professionalism with approachability, maintaining respect while cultivating a positive and productive environment. My ability to communicate effectively across departments, manage complex logistical challenges, and navigate the interpersonal dynamics of working with friends contributed to a successful and safe production that reflected both creative and operational excellence.
