Reflection and Project Information:
As First Assistant Director on Passengers, I oversaw a demanding and fast-paced production that brought together a large multidisciplinary team. The project’s scope required coordinating a crew of more than thirty people across multiple filming environments, including Savannah’s oldest Baptist church, each with its own technical and logistical challenges. I led the daily execution of the shooting plan, maintained communication among departments, and ensured that the creative vision stayed aligned with an efficient and safe workflow.
The production involved numerous moving pieces that required precise planning and decisive leadership. Managing complex company moves, supervising two camera units, and guiding an eight-person cast while meeting SAG strict guidelines for child actors called for strong organizational control and the ability to adapt quickly under pressure. Throughout the shoot I established a structure that supported both momentum and morale, ultimately helping the team deliver a high-quality final product while navigating an ambitious and multifaceted schedule.
