INTO THE WILD - SEAN PENN
One of my biggest Influences is this specific Scene from Into the Wild by Sean Penn. The use of long shots, wide angles, and light makes this feel so free and light. I also really like the direction that the actor was given in this scene. It makes his character extremely likable because he shows a vulnerable and funny side to himself. I really wanted to replicate this for my Sounds project, and I think I got quite close to what I was looking for. I shot, as they did in this film, around real people and real locations, and let the environment dictate what was shot and how it looked, and it really helped to create the free-flow vibe that the original scene possesses.
